#MeTooSport
The #MeTooSport & Beyond project grew from the belief that the structures, values, and norms that enable and perpetuate athlete abuse need to change. At #MeTooSport, international, interdisciplinary voices work to identify cultural and structural barriers to safeguarding. By promoting public, athlete-driven conversations with sports experts, #MeTooSport amplifies athletes’ calls for accountability to start bridging the gaps. By engaging diverse local, national, and international stakeholders, #MeTooSport seeks to mobilise global sport’s power to help create trauma-informed solutions for athletes everywhere.
NKG’s director, Rebecca Achieng Ajulu-Bushell, is part of the research team of the #MeTooSport working group, the project exists within academic frames but a break off collective decided to create a platform to make the resulting recourse and resources more accessible, to democratise access to this important research. NKG’s design studio, Coretta Design, along with our in-house creative producer assisted in designing and building the website as well as creating collateral for their associated social media platforms. As the project grows NKG continues to assist in this way; hosting the metoosport.com website and emails as well as supporting their social media story telling with strong, cohesive visuals.
